My Therapeutic Style

Only when we feel truly heard and understood can we feel safe to envision new possibilities.

First, and foremost, I aim to bring my genuine self to our therapeutic relationship. I believe in you and am here to truly listen to you, reflect your thoughts and feelings back to you, and create a safe space for you to examine your story and understand your self more fully.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Polyvagal Theory. ACT has an emphasis on growing one’s psychological flexibility and CBT focuses on examining how changes to our thoughts, feelings and actions can impact our day-to-day experiences. Polyvagal Theory aims to support individuals in understanding how our nervous system and bodily responses are directly related to our feelings of safety or danger and how tuning into this information can support us in regulating our selves.

I also often recommend readings, and other resources to support you in your journey of self-reflection and change.
